Sessinam, the Volta Region’s powerhouse representative, delivered a spectacular double-victory on Ghanaian Folklore Night, capturing both the Star Performer and Best Costume awards. This final competitive stage before the grand finale has dramatically shifted the momentum of the Ghana;s Most Beautiful legacy season.
The high-stakes episode challenged the remaining semifinalists to breathe new life into ancient oral histories, myths, and cultural proverbs. Sessinam’s masterful storytelling, paired with an exquisite traditional ensemble, left the judges and audience spellbound, cementing her status as a frontrunner for the golden crown.
A Masterclass in Ewe Folklore and Stagecraft
Taking the stage under the atmospheric glow of the folklore theme, Sessinam transported the audience back to the root of Voltaic history. Her theatrical delivery seamlessly merged vocal poise with rhythmic grace, capturing the exact educational essence of the legacy season.
Her performance didn’t just earn her the night’s ultimate acting praise; it also gave her a critical competitive edge. Her custom-tailored garment, rich in symbolic imagery and local fabrics, was named Best Costume. This double win makes her one of the most decorated queens of the 20th-anniversary cycle.

What makes Sessinam’s trajectory fascinating is the eerie historical repetition. In 2012, 2023, and 2025, the Volta representatives won the Star Performer award during the high-stakes semifinal stage right before booking their slots in the finals. All three went on to win the ultimate crown.
The other award winners on the night was Lamiley from the Greater Accra Region who won for Most Eloquent. Arhinmaa who was awarded ‘’Kivo Woman of the Week’’ missed the slot to be part of the 6 finalists.
The grand finale which comes off on the 18th of October at the National Theatre promises to be full of fireworks, grandeur and expression of Ghana’s rich culture and heritage.
