Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has been named among 10 nominees for the 2026 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award following an impressive 2025/26 campaign.

The Manchester City attacker earned his place on the shortlist after outstanding performances for Bournemouth and City, where he scored 13 goals in 35 appearances last season, including the winner in the FA Cup final.

Semenyo also made history as the first Ghanaian to feature in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year and played a key role in the Black Stars’ qualification for the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He faces competition from Ivory Coast’s Amad Diallo, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Ismael Saibari and Brahim Diaz, DR Congo’s Yoane Wissa, South Africa’s Teboho Mokoena, and Senegal trio Ismaila Sarr, Pape Gueye and Sadio Mane.

The 26-year-old has also made a promising start to the current campaign with two goals and three assists in eight appearances for Manchester City before being sidelined by injury.

The 2026 CAF Awards ceremony is scheduled for December 7 in Lagos, Nigeria.
