The road to the GMB@20 grand finale has been narrowed to six. After a spectacular and emotionally charged Folklore Night, six queens have secured their places for the ultimate showdown at the National Theatre on October 18, 2026.
The stakes could not have been higher
As Ghana’s Most Beautiful celebrated its 20th anniversary with its landmark GMB@20 – The Legacy Year, the semifinal stage became a celebration of Ghanaian storytelling, heritage and performance. The queens were challenged to dig deep into the country’s rich folklore, bringing ancient stories, legendary figures, proverbs and cultural traditions to life before the judges and a captivated audience and they delivered.
From powerful theatrical performances to unique costumes and compelling storytelling, Folklore Night demonstrated once again why GMB has remained one of Ghana’s most distinctive television productions for two decades.
However, beneath the spectacle was an uncomfortable reality: by the end of the night, one queen would have to leave.
A Night of Stories, Heritage and Spectacle
Folklore Night demanded more than simply telling a traditional story. The queens had to demonstrate storytelling ability, cultural understanding, stage presence, eloquence and theatrical creativity while connecting their performances with audiences watching both in the theatre and at home.
Every performance became an opportunity to revisit Ghanaian heritage through a contemporary television lens.
Among the night’s standout performers was Sessinam of the Volta Region, who emerged as the evening’s biggest individual winner.

Sessinam delivered a powerful interpretation of Ewe folklore that impressed both the judges and audience. Her performance earned her the coveted Star Performer award, while her striking outfit also secured the Best Costume award.
It was a rare double victory and a defining moment in her GMB@20 journey.
Her performance was more than a competition entry. It demonstrated how folklore, when combined with strong performance and visual storytelling, can become compelling television.
Greater Accra’s Lamiley also made a strong impression. Her ability to communicate with clarity, confidence and precision earned her the Most Eloquent award.

Together, the performances reinforced one of the enduring strengths of Ghana’s Most Beautiful: its ability to turn culture and heritage into entertainment while giving young Ghanaian women a national platform to tell stories from their regions.
Then Came the Moment Nobody Wanted. After the performances came the part every contestant and every GMB fan dreads.
The six available places in the grand finale meant that one queen’s journey had to end.
At the end it came down to the combination of the scores of the judges who were Dr. Sarah F. Dorgbadzi, Janet Sunkwa-Mills and Nana Hemaa Adwoa Awindor and the public voting. With the competition now at its most intense, even a strong performance could not guarantee a place in the final six.
For Arhinmaa of the Western Region, the journey came to an emotional end.
Despite delivering a commendable performance during Folklore Night, the combined results placed her just outside the six available positions. Her elimination was one of the night’s most poignant moments, bringing to an end a journey that had taken her from regional representation to the national GMB@20 stage.
She leaves the competition with her head held high, having been part of a landmark anniversary season that will be remembered for its celebration of Ghanaian identity, culture and storytelling.
Meet the GMB@20 Final Six
With the semifinal now behind them, six queens remain.
They represent six regions and carry with them the hopes of their supporters as they prepare for the biggest night of their GMB journey.
They are Ampomaa from Ashanti Region, Sessinam from Volta Region, Lamiley from Greater Accra Region, Bono Region’s Nana Konadu, Tiwaa from Western North Regionand finally Ayinboma from Upper East Region.
One Crown. Six Queens. One Final Stage.

The journey that began with regional auditions and took viewers through weeks of competition, culture, performance and personal stories has now reached its defining moment.
On October 18, 2026, the six finalists will step onto the stage of the National Theatre for the GMB@20 grand finale.
There, the competition will come down to one final question: Who will become Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2026?
The answer will be decided before a national audience as the six finalists battle for the cash, the car, the crown, and the ultimate bragging rights.
