Ghana captain Jordan Ayew is set to join English Championship side Sheffield United, with the club expected to officially announce the experienced forward as their latest signing tomorrow.

Ayew, who turns 35 on Friday, is set to bring a wealth of experience to a young Sheffield United squad that has made a challenging start to the Championship campaign. The Blades currently sit 15th in the table after five matches, and the club is keen to add experience and leadership to strengthen its squad.

Sheffield United have reportedly been in contact with Ayew for at least two weeks as negotiations progressed over a potential move. The Ghanaian is now poised to return to English football, where he has established himself as one of the country’s most experienced African players.

The move will see Ayew join his fourth English club, having previously represented Aston Villa, Swansea City and Crystal Palace.

His time in England has been marked by consistent top-level performances, versatility and leadership. At Sheffield United, his experience could prove particularly valuable as the club looks to improve its position in the Championship and mount a stronger challenge as the season progresses.

For Ghana, Ayew’s move also provides the Black Stars captain with the opportunity to continue playing regularly at a competitive level as he remains an important figure in the national team.
