Asante Kotoko have confirmed that their Ghana Premier League Matchday 2 fixture against Kpando Heart of Lions will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend.
Speaking exclusively to Adesa Productions Limited, Nii Darko, a member of the club’s communications team, said plans to host the game at the Baba Yara Stadium remain unchanged.
His comments come after reports on Monday suggested that the fixture could be moved to the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi due to the ongoing renovation works at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors began their 2026/27 Premier League campaign with an entertaining 2-2 draw against newly promoted Debibi United at the Golden City Park in Berekum last Sunday.
With new head coach Eric Tinkler at the helm, Kotoko will be aiming for their first league victory of the season when they welcome a resilient Heart of Lions side to Kumasi.
The fixture will also give Tinkler another opportunity to assess his squad as he targets maximum points in his first home league game in charge of the Porcupine Warriors.
