Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson says his team is ready and determined to secure victory against Ecuador in their World Cup opener on September 6, 2026.
“Finally, the day is getting closer, or it has already come. We’re facing Ecuador tomorrow. We’ve been waiting for this for I can’t remember how long, so we just can’t wait to be on the field tomorrow,” Sampson said.
The coach said the team’s final training session focused on set pieces and keeping the players fresh, adding that the squad is “very, very focused” ahead of the clash.
“We are going in with the intention of winning. Tomorrow our aim is to go and win, and that is what we are focusing on right now,” he added.
Sampson also urged Ghanaians to continue believing in and supporting the team as they begin their World Cup journey.
Ghana will later face Korea Republic and France in their remaining group-stage matches.
