Ghana’s entertainment industry is mourning the death of Adez, the musician and former TV3 Mentor Season 2 contestant whose talent and distinctive presence made her familiar to fans of the popular music reality show.
News of Adez’s death emerged on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with tributes subsequently pouring in from friends, colleagues and personalities within Ghana’s music and media circles.
Adez, reportedly born Victoria Nana Adezoa Stokes, was associated with Takoradi and gained national attention when she participated in the second season of TV3’s Mentor. She shared the stage with contestants including Nii Soul and Pastor Kofy, becoming one of the recognisable faces of the season.
Her involvement in Mentor was only one part of her musical journey. After the competition, Adez continued to work in Ghana’s music industry, particularly as a backing vocalist, contributing her voice to projects involving established Ghanaian and international musicians. A 2011 report cited her work with artistes including Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi, Hugh Masekela, Ofori Amponsah, Samini, VIP and Kwabena Kwabena.
Her passing has triggered emotional reactions from people who knew her and those who followed her career. Radio personality Ohemaa Woyeje expressed disbelief over the news, recalling a conversation she had shared with Adez at the funeral of SHE’s mother.
Musician Choirmaster, meanwhile, also mourned Adez and sent condolences to her family.
Adding to the sadness surrounding her passing, Adez’s friend Dugix Stephen Dougon revealed that they had been working on an unreleased song titled Together Forever. The project reportedly contained voice recordings and Fante lyrics and was still unfinished when Adez died.
Adez is being remembered not only for her appearance on Mentor 2, but also for her contribution to Ghana’s music industry as a vocalist and backing singer.
