Ghana is set to make its international motorsport debut when Team Ghana competes at the Karting Africa Showrun in Benguela, Angola, on October 10 and 11.
The team was received in Accra by National Sports Authority (NSA) Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah on Friday 18th September 2026 ahead of the historic trip.
Ghana will be represented by senior driver Jihad Armand and junior drivers Khloé Kusi-Asomah, 11, and Ezra Stephens, 9.
The delegation was led by Samuel Moses Opoku-Agyemang, President of Auto Racing Ghana (ARG).
The Benguela event will bring together 39 drivers from across Africa and forms part of the Angolan National League. It will also serve as a preview of the Karting Africa Cup, a five-round continental series planned for 2027.
FIA Vice President for Sport (Africa) Rodrigo Rocha, FIA Regional Coordinator for Africa Miguel Tiago, and representatives of motorsport authorities from 14 African countries are expected at the event.
