Bono Region’s Nana Konadu was the standout of Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB@20) Week 10, taking the Star Performer title on a night that also ended Besiwaa’s run in the competition.

The “One Africa” theme asked the eight remaining contestants to represent other African nations on stage. Nana Konadu chose Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana’s western neighbour, and built her act around what the two countries share, particularly their Akan roots. She told the story of Queen Abla Pokou, nodded to Ivorian football, and finished with the high energy of Coupé-Décalé.

Two other contestants also took home awards. Ayinboma of the Upper East Region won Most Eloquent for her portrayal of Liberia, and Arhinmaa of the Western Region won Best Costume for her look as she journeyed through Egypt, from the Nile to Nubian culture and the Siwa Oasis.

For Besiwaa of the Central Region, the night ended differently. Her Senegal presentation drew on Sabar drumming, Senegalese wrestling, Gorée Island and the country’s spirit of Teranga (hospitality), but it wasn’t enough to earn the votes she needed. She now leaves the race for the crown.

Other contestants took audiences across the continent, with Tiwaa in Cameroon, Lamiley in South Africa, Sessinam in Kenya and Ampomaa in Nigeria. Judges Janet Sunkwa-Mills, Fatima Alimohammed and Dr. Joseph Aketema assessed the performances.

Seven contestants remain, and with the field narrowing, each week now counts for more.
