Former Ghana international Godwin Attram has joined the technical team of the senior national team, the Black Stars, as Assistant Coach.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced the appointment as part of changes to the Black Stars’ technical structure ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and other upcoming international assignments.
Attram replaces Desmond Ofei, who will now focus exclusively on his role as Head Coach of Ghana’s U23 side, the Black Meteors.
The former Black Stars midfielder brings extensive experience to the technical team, having enjoyed a career as a player and later moved into coaching and player development.
Attram previously played for PSV Eindhoven and Silkeborg IF and has also served as Head Coach of Great Olympics. He has further worked within Ghana’s national youth team structures, with a focus on developing young players.
His appointment is expected to strengthen the Black Stars’ technical team as Ghana prepares for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers and other international competitions.
Ofei, who previously combined his Black Stars duties with responsibilities at the youth national team level, will now dedicate his attention to the Black Meteors as they prepare for the next Olympic Games qualifying campaign.
