The Africa Monologue Challenge is designed to bring African storytellers together through acting, cultural exchange and creative expression. Beyond the competition itself, the Africa Monologue Challenge seeks to use acting, storytelling and cultural exchange to connect Africans and showcase the continent’s creative talent. The winner of the competition takes home a $1,000 cash prize.
The Africa Monologue Challenge (AMC) is co-founded and organized by MK Casting (led by visionary and casting director Mawuko Kuadzi) in partnership with the African Chamber of Content Producers (ACCP), with official support from the National Film Authority of Ghana. Collaborates closely with host-country governments, diplomatic missions, and local planning committees (such as the Season Three Planning Committee chaired by Roger Quartey).
Ghanaian actor William Lamptey has emerged as the winner of Season 3 of the Africa Monologue Challenge (AMC) after a closely contested final battle with Kenya’s Douglas Mwenda Nyaga. The competition brought together 12 finalists from across Africa and the African Diaspora in Accra at the National Theatre for the continental showdown.
The Season 3 finalists were William Lamptey (Ghana), Idayatou Ibrahim (Benin), Angafor Emmanuel Azaweh (Cameroon), Monie Kengue Lekoundzou (Republic of Congo), Douglas Mwenda Nyaga (Kenya), Tory Thompson Eseoghene (Nigeria), Lise Seynabou (Senegal), Melane Hamman (South Africa), Jennifer Boamah (USA/African Diaspora), Sara Loba (Côte d’Ivoire), Penelope Kamungwa (Zambia), and Bridget Rethabile Freddy (Botswana).
The race for the top position became particularly intense between Ghana and Kenya, with supporters rallying behind Lamptey and Nyaga. Earlier in the voting period, Nyaga had been among the leading contestants, making the final outcome highly anticipated.
Lamptey eventually secured the first position, backed by the overwhelming support of viewers who voted for him, while Kenya finished second and Côte d’Ivoire placed third.

The victory marks a significant achievement for Lamptey, placing Ghanaian acting talent in the spotlight on a Pan-African platform dedicated to storytelling, cultural exchange and creative expression. It also earns Ghana the opportunity to host next year’s edition of the competition.
