Ghana’s AFCON qualifying campaign suffered another setback as the Black Stars fell 4-2 to The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Ernest Nuamah gave Ghana the lead from the penalty spot before Felix Afena-Gyan doubled the advantage with a free-kick.
The Gambia responded with two goals before half-time to level the game at 2-2, before adding two more after the break to complete the comeback.
The defeat leaves Ghana without a point from their opening two Group C matches after their earlier 2-0 loss to Côte d’Ivoire.
The Black Stars will now need a strong response in their remaining qualifiers to keep their 2027 AFCON hopes alive.
