Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has hinted at a possible bid for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidency in 2027, although he insists he is yet to make a final decision.
Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Onua TV, the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup winner said he remains eligible to contest for the top position in Ghana football and has not ruled out the possibility.
“Don’t be surprised if I also decide to contest for the presidency, even though I have not made a decision yet,” he said.
His comments come amid speculation linking former Black Stars teammate André Ayew to a potential GFA presidential bid.
In a recent interview with former Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel, Ayew revealed that he had received calls from football stakeholders encouraging him to consider contesting for the position.
However, the experienced forward indicated that he was waiting for the right time to address the matter.
With the 2027 GFA presidential election approaching, the possibility of prominent former Black Stars players entering the race could add an intriguing dimension to the contest for the leadership of Ghana football.
