Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted at a possible end to his international career after announcing his decision to leave the Portugal national team camp following the national team coach’s press conference and a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation.
In a statement, Ronaldo said he would reveal the reasons behind his decision “in due time,” adding that he has always been fully committed to representing Portugal.
“Now it’s time to wish good luck to Portugal and all my teammates, without exception.”
While Ronaldo has not explicitly confirmed his retirement from international football, his departure has raised questions about whether his long-standing career with Portugal could be coming to an end.
The 41-year-old has represented Portugal since 2003, winning UEFA Euro 2016 and the UEFA Nations League in 2019.
