Ghana’s preparations for the next round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers are gathering momentum, with head coach Carlos Queiroz having submitted his squad for consideration.
According to Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Henry Asante Twum, the proposed squad is currently undergoing the necessary internal approval process before the selected players are officially invited.
The list will first be reviewed by the Management Committee before being forwarded to the GFA Executive Council for final approval.
Asante Twum said the formal invitations will be issued after the process is completed, with the Black Stars squad expected to be made public next week.
“Coach Carlos Queiroz has submitted his squad for the upcoming games, and it is currently going through the required processes. It will first go before the Management Committee and then the Executive Council. Once all the necessary processes have been completed, invitations will be sent to the selected players. Hopefully, the squad will be officially announced next week,” he told Akoma FC.
The Black Stars are set for two important AFCON 2027 qualifying matches later this month.
Ghana will travel to Bouaké to face Côte d’Ivoire on September 24, 2026, before returning home five days later to host The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 29.
With qualification ambitions at stake, attention will now turn to Queiroz’s final selection and the players who will be tasked with delivering positive results in the crucial double-header.
