Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo has called on Ghana to keep their heads up and quickly turn their attention to the next challenge after a disappointing start to their AFCON qualifying campaign.
Ghana suffered a 2-0 defeat to Ivory Coast in their opening AFCON qualifier, leaving the Black Stars with work to do as they prepare for their next encounter against The Gambia.
Despite the setback, Sibo has urged his teammates and Ghanaian fans not to lose faith, insisting that the defeat does not mean all is lost.
“Losing doesn’t mean all is lost. Let’s go for the next game against The Gambia, guys. Ghana, heads up. God’s plan. Glory awaits,” Sibo posted on social media.
The midfielder’s message comes as Ghana looks to bounce back from the disappointing result and put its qualifying campaign back on track.
The Black Stars will now shift their focus to The Gambia, with Sibo stressing the importance of staying united, positive and determined.
For Ghana, the response in the next game will be crucial as the team seeks to recover from the Ivory Coast loss and strengthen its position in the AFCON qualifying race.
Ghana’s second group game in the 2027 AFCON qualifier against the Gambia is on Tuesday September 29, 2026 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Kickoff is at 4:00pm GMT.
