Karela United head coach Nurudeen Amadu has admitted that his side had to work hard for their 3-1 victory over Bechem United on Sunday afternoon at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
Karela United, playing their first home game of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season after suffering a 3-1 defeat to FC Samartex in the opening week, bounced back in impressive fashion to secure their first points of the campaign.
Despite the convincing scoreline, Amadu acknowledged that the game was far from easy and praised his players for their determination and response to the opening-day setback.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Nurudeen Amadu expressed satisfaction with the result but stressed that his team still has several areas to improve.
“After losing our first game, we had to step up our performance in our first home game. It was very difficult, but at the end of the day, the win has cushioned us. We have seen some positives, but we still have a lot of work to do,” he said.
The victory gives Karela United a much-needed boost ahead of Matchweek 3, where they will travel to face Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.
Amadu and his charges will be hoping to build on Sunday’s victory.
