Real Madrid coach José Mourinho is considering Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei for Saturday’s La Liga clash against Villarreal amid a defensive injury crisis.
According to Marca, the 21-year-old Castilla defender trained with the first team on Tuesday and has emerged as an option for the squad.
Real Madrid are without Dean Huijsen through suspension, while Raúl Asencio and Éder Militão are injured. Ibrahima Konaté is also recovering from a knock.
Naasei joined Castilla from Granada this summer and has featured in all six matches this season, starting five. He also impressed against Atlético Madrid last Friday, a game Mourinho watched from the stands.
With defensive options limited, Naasei could now earn his first senior-team call-up against Villarreal.
