Former Black Stars captain André Ayew has rallied behind Ghana’s national amputee football team, the Black Challenge, with a financial donation and words of encouragement as they prepare for the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.
Visiting the squad during training, Ayew brought leadership by example, reinforcing that every athlete who wears the national colors deserves recognition, opportunity, and concrete support.
“I’m here to support and give you all the love and power that I can give you, and to wish you great luck. I hope that you guys will bring us a medal, but the gold will be better.” He said
The Black Challenge will represent Ghana from 13 to 22 November 2026 in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico. Drawn in Group D alongside Angola, Colombia, and Iraq, the team will compete against 24 nations for the global title.

Ayew’s gesture highlights the importance of sustained investment in athletes with disabilities and serves as a call to action for businesses, leaders, and supporters to turn encouragement into practical backing.
