The Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) has congratulated wheelchair tennis players following the Ga Mantse Tennis Tournament, while appealing for sponsorship to support their qualification bids for the LA2028 Paralympic Games.
Bernard Yawson won the men’s title, with Daniel Laryea finishing as runner-up. Stacy Konadu Mensah claimed the women’s crown, ahead of runner-up Bridget Nartey.
The Federation commended the athletes and organisers, Abusua, for promoting wheelchair tennis and creating opportunities for players to showcase their talent.
Henry K. N. Larbi, National Coordinator of Ghana Wheelchair Tennis, said financial constraints remain a major barrier to international competition, which is crucial for players to earn ranking points towards Paralympic qualification.

The GTF is therefore calling on corporate organisations, government agencies, development partners and individuals to support athletes with travel costs, specialised equipment, coaching and international tournament participation.
The Federation reaffirmed its commitment to developing wheelchair tennis across Ghana, promoting inclusion and creating opportunities for athletes to compete at the highest level.
