Hockey Farm Sports in collaboration with the Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA Sports Unit is set to organise a 2-day capacity building program for coaches in Ghana, aimed at upgrading coaching knowledge, enhancing professional standards, and creating a platform for peer learning and experience sharing among coaches across various sporting disciplines.
The program, dubbed “Join The Coaching Conversations,” is scheduled for 21st – 22nd October, 2026, at the National Hockey Stadium, Accra.
According to the organisers, the training will focus on six key thematic areas: Effective Coaching, Role of a Coach, Risk Management, Planning and Delivering a Session, Teaching Approach and High Performance Challenges.
The facilitator for the two-day event is Mr. Ebenezer Frimpong, Chief Executive Officer of Hockey Farm Sports who also doubles as the Head of Sports for the Ghana Revenue Authority. Mr. Frimpong is a certified Coaches Educator with a Master’s Degree in Sports Management.
Speaking ahead of the event, Mr. Frimpong said the number of participants has been limited to ensure quality engagement and practical delivery.
He explained that the program was conceived to address gaps in coaching knowledge and to promote professional development at the grassroots and elite levels.
“We are looking not more than 40 people. Cover all type of coaches,” he said.
“The program is put together to help coaches upgrade their knowledge and also create some awareness of some of the things they do. Also create an environment for coaches to share,” he added.
Mr. Frimpong indicated that the 2-day event is completely free for all selected participants, with Hockey Farm Sports Ltd absorbing all associated costs.
“It is free to all participants. Hockey Farm Sports Ltd is taking care of cost of certification, sneaks, water and lunch for the two days program,” he said.
He noted that certification will be provided to participants at the end of the training, as part of efforts to formalise coaching education and encourage continuous professional development in the sports sector.
The National Hockey Stadium is expected to host coaches from various sporting disciplines including hockey, football, athletics, and other federations.
