The ten remaining contestants on Ghana’s Most Beautiful took on the role of Cultural Ambassadors on Sunday, September 20, under the theme Destination Ghana: Sell Your Region. Share Your Story. Grow Our Nation. Each contestant delivered a five-minute individual pitch selling her region as a must-visit destination to Ghana and the world.
True to the night’s theme, contestants were tasked with going beyond simply reeling off a list of tourist attractions. They were expected to paint a compelling picture of what makes their region unique, build a convincing case for why someone should visit, and demonstrate what tourism could mean for the people and communities back home. Pitches covered natural attractions and landscapes, festivals and cultural events, local cuisine, traditional crafts and skills, and music and dance traditions, alongside a hidden or lesser-known attraction that set each region apart from the rest.
The episode, held at TV3’s Studio B, saw the Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Abeiku Santana join main judges Janet Sunkwa and Nana Adwoa Awindor as guest judge for the night. Queen judges Yaaba and Titiaka, past GMB winners brought in to share their own opinions on the performances, also sat in for the evening.
At the end of the night, Sessinam, representing the Volta Region, was named Star Performer, following a standout showing that impressed the judging panel. Three other awards were handed out on the night. Ampomaa, representing the Ashanti Region, won the Kivo Woman of the Week title, which recognises the most well-behaved contestant of the week; Ayinboma of the Upper East Region picked up the Best Costume award; and Tiwaa, representing Western North Region, was named Most Eloquent.
The evening ended on a bittersweet note for two contestants, as An-Suaf from the Upper West Region and Boatemaa from the Oti Region were evicted from the competition following a combination of public votes and judges’ scores, bringing the remaining contestant count down to eight.
The tourism-themed episode continues GMB’s tradition of blending entertainment and culture, giving contestants a platform to spotlight lesser-known attractions and investment opportunities across Ghana’s regions.
