Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has been ruled out of Tuesday’s 2027 AFCON qualifier against The Gambia after picking up an injury in the defeat to Côte d’Ivoire.
The Spartak Moscow centre-back, who captained the Black Stars in Bouaké, was substituted in the 71st minute after sustaining the injury.
Djiku has returned to his club for further assessment and will miss Ghana’s Group C encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars host The Gambia on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 4:00pm, looking to recover from their opening-day defeat.
