Black Maidens coach Joe Nana Adarkwa says Ghana are targeting victory against Brazil on Wednesday after losing 3-0 to Norway in their opening Group C match at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Adarkwa admitted his side struggled with finishing against Norway but insists improvements have been made in training ahead of the crucial encounter.

“Our match against Norway exposed a critical area we must address: our finishing. We have analysed the game and worked on our shooting in training,” he said.

Despite the defeat, the coach says morale remains high, with the technical team also set to make a final decision on the starting goalkeeper.

“Our objective for the Brazil match is simple and non-negotiable: we have to win at all costs. We know Brazil is a formidable opponent, but the girls are ready,” Adarkwa added.

Ghana face Brazil at 18:00 GMT on Wednesday, October 21, before concluding their group campaign against Canada on Saturday.
