Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC shared the spoils in an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday in Matchday 9 of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League.
The visitors took the lead in the 43rd minute after sustained pressure on the hosts. Prince Owusu delivered a well-weighted free-kick into the box, which midfielder Safianu Usman met with a powerful header to put Medeama ahead before the break.
Kotoko responded strongly after the restart and restored parity in the 56th minute. Defender Joseph Amoah delivered a corner that found captain Musa Hamzata, who rose highest to head home the equaliser.
Medeama pushed forward in search of a second goal, but Kotoko’s defence held firm to keep the visitors at bay.
The Porcupine Warriors introduced Opoku Agyemang and Seth Kwadwo in an attempt to strengthen their midfield and attacking options, but neither side could find a winner.
The draw leaves Asante Kotoko on 13 points after nine matches, while Medeama move to 18 points.
